Sadly I have to announce that Gary Henry will be playing his last gig at Hemingway's for the foreseeable future. He has taken a new job in upstate New York. He will be entertaining us for the last time on Saturday evening, July 11th, 2009. He and his wife Janelle will be missed. We wish them the best of luck in their future travels.

Starting this Sunday, Hemingways will be closed for a few Sundays. I could make up an excuse as to why we had to close, but the truth is that I need a day off. It has been several months, last year I think, since I had a day off. Sorry, I guess I am just lazy. The rest of the week will be as normal, weekdays we will open at 4 PM and Saturdays we will open at 5 PM.

Due to the damn Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo, Maiden Voyage and The Dazzling Weasel Faces have canceled their performances for this weekend. The DWF have rescheduled for next weekend and as of yet, Maiden Voyage and I have not been able to find a date suitable with their schedule. I will let you know as soon as I am aware of the new date. Sad news came to our town today. The Krispy Kreme donut shop closed after being open for nineteen months. The donut phenomenon that had caravans of people driving ninety miles south to the nearest location to purchase their sweet consumables prior to the opening of this store closed because of poor sales. Last night, Friday the Twenty-third, Hemingway's Watering Hole got a good dose of needed culture thanks to Mr. Seth Allen and his cello. Mr. Allen stopped by and was kind enough to favor us with a wonderful classical cello performance.
